The most iconic landmark in Downtown is The Reno Arch spanning Virginia Street at the intersection with Commercial Row. The arch is a prominent feature of downtown Reno, and for most of its history has featured the city’s motto, The Biggest Little City in the World.

The Midtown District in the heart of Reno is a thriving part of our proud city. Midtown is located directly south and adjacent to Downtown Reno. The story of Midtown Reno is one of original, inventive, courageous and like-minded entrepreneurs who recognized a special opportunity right under their noses—the chance to change the face of a neighborhood. Drawn to a rejuvenated community that shares a common vision, the Reno community and business owners work together to continue to breathe new life and energy into this District.
For years, the Midtown District was a neglected area, but is transforming into a homegrown, eclectic neighborhood. To help make that happen, a group of business owners revived this part of Reno, creating a center of unique retail shops, restaurants, nightlife, and a variety of services.
The mission for the Midtown District is to develop a sense of community and positive identity. Through supporting the many incoming local businesses, coordinating events, and giving back to local charities, the Midtown District is alive and thriving today.
